Cool season, short-lived perennial bunchgrass with a fibrous root system and occasionally with stolons. Adapted to a wide variety of habitats from stream banks to sagebrush communities. Tolerates acidic soils and periodic flooding. Palatable in the spring prior to flowering. easily established and highly successful revegetation species.
