Warm season, drought tolerant, native perennial bunchgrass occurring on rocky slopes and sandy plains from 1,000 to 5,000 ft. elevation. Vegetative growth begins in late spring and can continue through August with additional moisture. Short lived but reestablishes easily from its own seed.
