Low water requirement; full sun to partial shade. Perennial with brilliant rose-magenta or scarlet flowers, blooms spring to summer on mesa slopes or in desert canyons. Best suited for coarse soils but is widely adaptable. Common, but usually found as scattered individuals rather than in dense colonies.
