Puccinellia nuttalliana

Puccinellia nuttalliana

Nuttal alkaligrass

Formerly known as Puccinellia airoides. Perennial sod-former found growing on moist, alkaline sites and occasionally surviving in standing water. Valuable species to include in mixtures for reseeding marshes, shorelines, alkali basins, or other waterways.

Varieties:
Quill

Especially well-adapted to moist alkaline soils. Upright growth habit, height of less than 2 ft., and salt tolerance make Quill valuable for roadside reclamation. (Source: Saskatchewan prairies.)
