Formerly known as Stipa viridula. Cool season, drought tolerant, long-lived, perennial bunchgrass with an extensive fibrous as well as deep root system. Performs well on a wide variety of sites, thriving on heavier soils but performing well on coarser sites. Moderately palatable to livestock and wildlife year-round.
