Developed for vegetative vigor, leafiness, seed yield and seedling vigor. Proven to be significantly more vigorous and productive than Vinall. Winter hardy, drought resistant and widely adapted to western ranges. (Released 1984, source of ecotype: former USSR)
Adapted for gazing in the Canadian prairie and the northern Great Plains region of the U.S. Good curing qualities make it especially useful for late summer, fall and early winter grazing. Emerges from deeper plantings and develops larger and more vigorous plants in the establishment year than other Russian wildrye varieties. (Released 1978, source of ecotype: Canada)
