Small shrub-like flower growing 1 to 2 feet high. Drought resistant perennial found in arroyos, desert plains, and hillsides from 2,000 to 5,000 ft. elevation. It likes full sun and well-drained soils, and has brilliant 1-inch yellow flowers that dry and become much like paper, making it a great plant for landscaping. It is poisonous to livestock and is usually avoided.
