Warm season perennial occurring abundantly in heavy soils or low-lying areas from 1,000 to 6,000 ft. Well-suited as a soil binder due to strong, stoloniferous habit. Often found in dense stands along waterways, floodplains, or low depressions. Palatable to all livestock but utilized best when grazed early or when more palatable grasses are not present.
