Fallugia paradoxa Apache plume

Medium height, much-branched, evergreen to deciduous shrub, most common along dry, sandy washes or open roadsides from 3,500 to 8,000 ft. White, rose-like flowers develop into feathery clusters of pinkish plumes. Protects dry washes during flash floods. Fair to poor palatability except in winter when other forage choices are less available.
