Chilopsis linearis Desert willow

Small to medium-sized tree, reaching heights of 20 to 30 ft. Commonly found along dry washes between 1,500 and 5,000 ft. elevation throughout the southwestern U.S. This deciduous tree prefers full sun and is drought resistant, but responds well to supplemental irrigation. Not a true willow, this plant has beautiful pink to lavender flowers that bloom from April to September, and is very useful in landscaping applications.
