Poa trivialis Rough bluegrass

Previous scientific name(s): Poa attica

Short, cool season perennial sod-former, spreading by stolons. Primarily used as a turfgrass for winter overseeding on putting greens and Bermudagrass lawns in the South. Tolerates wet, cool soils and grows well in shady areas. Can be cut closely soon after germination so golf course play is minimally interrupted.
