Source Identified Seed

The Association of Official Seed Certifying Agencies (AOSCA) has an approved seed certification class for wild land seed collections called the “Source Identified Class” which enables a certification agency to verify the origin and ecotype of a given wild land seed harvest.Recent interest in site-specific seed harvests prompted the reclamation seed industry to request assistance from the AOSCA in developing a reasonable yet reliable method for verifying seed harvest locations.Seed that is harvested following the approved guidelines and procedures for the Source Identified Class can ultimately receive a certified seed yellow tag which indicates that the location of the seed harvest was verified as well as possible by the certification agency.
